Massage & Bodywork Techniques

"I have worked with Tamara Quezaire for the last 7 years. Her skill and expertise has been invaluable in helping me with a number of issues during this time. Tamara's ability to combine her knowledge of how the body works with a sensitivity to physical needs (strength of touch) and awareness of my emotional state make her a highly successful massage therapist. I would not hesitate to recommend Tamara to anyone looking for a massage therapist."

At Massage Moment Advanced Therapy, we understand that no two people are the same. You can be confident that every session will be skillfully tailored to your specific needs. These are some of the bodywork techniques we apply.

Trigger Point
After localized “knots” known as trigger points, are identified in the muscles, they are then stretched using a combination of passive and active techniques. Myofacial release is used on surrounding muscles to elongate and resolve strain patterns that initially enabled the trigger points to develop.
Sports Massage
For the athlete, sports massage techniques are utilized at all stages of pre/post event training. Sports massage helps to prevent injury, enhance athletic performance and reduce recovery time. Please see Sports and Injury Rehabilitation for more information on what we offer.
Deep Tissue Massage
This type of massage therapy focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Adhesions in chronic muscle tension or injury are broken down through various techniques to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
Swedish Massage
The most common form of massage, swedish massage utilizes long, smooth strokes, kneading and other movements to relax and ease muscle pain.
A unique method of using the thumb and fingers to stimulate the more than 7,200 nerve endings in each foot. These nerve endings correspond to all parts of the body, including organs and glands. Stimulating the appropriate region is intended to eliminate energy blockages thought to produce pain or disease in the related areas.
Prenatal Massage
This form of massage therapy is tailored to an expectant mother's needs. Prenatal massage, also known as Pregnancy massage, can reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. Not only can massage be physically beneficial, but the human touch can be comforting and emotionally supportive.
