Sports and Injury Rehabilitation Therapy

Tamara Quezaire
Tamara Working a Sports Clinic

"As a professional soccer player, my injuries had always been sports related. Tamara helped me experienced the affects of massage from a maintenance philosophy. She has wonderful hands, and is very caring. She brings a calm and refreshing approach to the body and its function. She is always the best part of my week!

My wife was in a car accident and [her] injuries were inhibiting her quality of life. Tamara took equal care with her, making her comfortable, and working on the areas of her neck that experienced trauma in a very sensitive and assertive way.

Whether sport related rehab and maintenance, or accident initiated concerns, we would not be more comfortable with anyone than Tamara!"

Ryan S.

"Tamara is absolutely amazing! She is by far the best massage therapist I have ever visited. She has the ability to find "problem" areas in my body and deal with them before they lead to injuries. I play singles & doubles tennis 3-6 times a week. I couldn't do it without her!"

Studies show a multi-modality approach to treating injury yields the best results. So along with offering top-notch therapeutic massage and bodywork techniques, we can help you create a therapy plan. Options include:

Acupuncture is a medical practice based on the belief that ailments result from imbalances in the body. It is the most well known modality used in Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture consists of the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points shown to be effective in the treatment of many health problems.
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that emphasizes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system
Dry Needling
Dry needling (or Trigger Point needling) is an effective technique that uses a fine gauge acupuncture needle to “deactivate”or “off load”painful or knotted areas in your muscles.
Chinese Herbs
Chinese herbal medicine is one of oldest herbal systems of the world, with an unbroken tradition that goes back 3000 years. Herbal medicine is the use of plant based materials for healing. Chinese herbs work by addressing internal imbalances of the body and promoting the bodies natural healing response. Chinese Herbs can be very helpful for a variety of problems as well as to maintain overall health.
Cupping is a method of treating disease that is caused by local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in a cupping jar which is then applied directly over the area of discomfort, usually the neck, shoulders, or back. The underlying tissue is drawn up into the jar promoting circulation and decreasing pain.
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort to facilitate healing. Moxibustion therapy in conjunction with acupuncture can be very effective for many diseases and conditions including back pain, muscle stiffness, headaches, migraines, tendonitis, arthritis, digestive disorders, anxiety, and female health problems such as menstrual cramps, irregular periods, and infertility.
Electro-acupuncture is a procedure in which low levels of electrical current from an e-stim device are run through acupuncture needles while they are retained in the patient. Electro-acupuncture is especially effective for certain types of painful conditions like tennis elbow or sciatic pain and is often used in weight loss.
Therapeutic Ultrasound
Therapeutic Ultrasound is a method of stimulating tissue beneath the skin's surface using sound waves. It is a very high frequency massage that can penetrate up 2 - 5cm below the surface of your skin. Ultrasound therapy increases blood flow in the treated area which speeds the healing process. Ultrasound also enhances the recovery rate of damaged tissue with adding strain, and softens any scar tissue that is usually present in an injured area.
